From Original 80's "Orange" Oak to Modern Airy Kitchen Dreams
This stunning kitchen renovation in Lancaster, PA completely transformed an outdated space into a bright, functional, and beautifully modern kitchen designed for everyday living and entertaining.
The project began with a full kitchen gut and redesign. The original orangey oak cabinetry was replaced with a timeless two-tone cabinet design featuring solid wood oak lower cabinets paired with crisp white solid wood upper cabinets. By removing the soffiting that previously wrapped around the kitchen ceiling, the new cabinetry could extend all the way to the ceiling — instantly making the space feel larger while also adding valuable storage.
One of the biggest improvements to the layout was relocating the awkward corner microwave and oven setup to the wall beside the refrigerator. This smart redesign opened up additional counter space and created a much more functional flow throughout the kitchen.
At the center of the space is a gorgeous waterfall island featuring quartz slab countertops, along with open shelving on the backside for cookbooks and decorative storage. A custom faux hood over the gas range adds warmth and character, while glossy subway tile creates a clean, reflective backdrop throughout the kitchen.
